October 2026 Flooding Update

we're ok! River's muddy

Current Conditions

Well, we just had the flood of the century, but we're fine here at the Lodge! Being so close to the dam means it captured all of the water that would have hit our area of the river. With all of this rain, the lake's level is up thirty feet from its September low point for the year, which is setting us up for a GREAT 2027 fishing season. The downside of all the flood water entering the lake is that it's become muddy, and so has the water flowing out of the dam. There's currently about an inch of visibility, and catching fish has become very difficult. We're hoping things settle in the next couple of weeks and the fishing picks back up. The fish may be initially shocked at the rapid shift in water conditions, but they don't stop eating. They rely on scent and sensation in these circumstances, so it's just really hard to get them to see and eat a fly. When the water clears even just a little, we expect fishing to be closer to normal. Large, high-vis patterns will be the ticket. We'll keep you updated.
