From Our Guides: The Weekly San Juan River Fishing Report Video for December 27th, 2024

Here’s the official Weekly San Juan River Fly Fishing Report from Fisheads San Juan River Lodge, as reported by Aaron Silva, Fly Fishing Guide:

The weather is still nice and water flows are at 350 cfs and slightly off-color. The water is still buggy for this time of year, despite how past years have been. Typically, our guides are throwing mainly jiggs, leeches, and eggs. This December, our guides are having luck with dries such as midge clusters and small Griffith’s gnats. If you’re still interested in throwing leeches, we recommend olive leech paired with a peach egg or a red midge larva, which has been a go-to. Due to lower flows, our guides haven’t been to the lower river, but they will report once flows improve.

The weather is nice, the fishing’s great, and we hope to see you out there!
