From Our Guides: The Weekly San Juan River Fishing Report Video for October 12th , 2024

Here’s the official Weekly San Juan River Fly Fishing Report from Fisheads San Juan River Lodge, as reported by Aaron Silva, Fly Fishing Guide:

Fishing is good with water levels at 700 cfs. There haven’t been major changes in the last week. We are still having luck with red and black midges in sizes 22 and 24. Big Mac pupas are a great choice. We are also having success with eggs as our top fly, followed by your fly of choice on the bottom. Between the end of Quality Waters and the lower river section, we are having better luck with mayfly patterns such as Pheasant Tails in sizes 18 and 20. One of the biggest takeaways is to keep your flies clean with our “San Juan Slap” due to a kick-up of moss. We hope to see you out there!
