San Juan River Fishing Report & News
From Our Guides: The Weekly San Juan River Fishing Report Video for August 23rd, 2024
Here’s the official Weekly San Juan River Fly Fishing Report from Fisheads San Juan River Lodge, as reported by Aaron Silva, Fly Fishing Guide:
Water flows are down to 600 cfs, and fishing is good. Foam wings in gray and chocolate, such as RS2s, have been effective. We’re also having luck with pupa patterns in olive in sizes 22 and 24. Pairing a pupa with a fly such as a Whitley’s RS2 in the afternoon has been working well. Dry fly season is still ramping up, and we’re having success with ants, Parachute Adams, and Griffith’s Gnats on the upper 4 miles of the river. The lower river is also fishing well, with success using a variety of dry flies and terrestrials, such as foam hoppers and ants. We hope to see you out there!
