From Our Guides: The Weekly San Juan River Fishing Report Video for July 11th, 2024

The Official July 11th Weekly San Juan River Fly Fishing Report Reported by Aaron Silva, Fly Fishing Guide at Fisheads San Juan River Lodge Flows are steady around 500 cfs as of July 11th. With the higher flows, make sure to adjust your weight accordingly. Leech patterns have slowed compared to the last couple of reports. Double midge rigs with a red larvae on top and a midge in olive, yellow and black on the bottom in sizes 22 or 24 are proving to be most effective. Fish are still rising for ants as well as parachute adams in size 20 or 22 if you’re looking to dry fly fish, though this can vary day to day depending on fish activity. Beatis activity is minimal, though gray RS2s in sizes 22 or 24 continue to work well if you’re fishing at subsurface levels.
