The official May 31st Weekly San Juan River Fly Fishing Report from the guides of Fisheads San Juan River Lodge. Report given by Stephen Souva, Fly Fishing Guide. Fishing has been stellar! The water is getting clearer and clearer. Visibility is around 5 to 6 feet. Starting the day with a leech and midge has been really productive. Size 22 and 24 midge patterns in brown, black, olive, red, and cream are still working well. We’re even seeing some lighter olive and yellow colors as well. In the afternoon, we’re seeing Baetis activity and have been fishing with gray, chocolate, and olive emergers. Hope to see you out here!
