May fly fishing on the San Juan River has been very good even though the water levels have fluctuated. Anglers have caught some big browns in the past couple of weeks.  One 31 inch brown was caught twice.  He is fat and healthy.  We are not going to have high water this year so anglers who want to wade will have access to the entire San Juan River quality waters.  The San Juan river is at almost 400 cfs and the BOR said they will run the river between 300cfs and 1000cfs for the remainder of the season.

• Size 22 midges are great. olive, brown and black midge larvae.
• Brown and slate gray baetis size 22 as well.
• Midge clusters size 22 and bwo size 22 for dries.
